Development camp notebook: CBJ prospects go from foes to friends
Jackson Smith and Josh Eernisse were rivals during Big Ten play last season, with Smith at Penn State and Eernisse at Michigan, but are now teammates with the Columbus Blue Jackets after Smith was selected in the first round of the 2025 draft and Eernisse signed with the organization following his college season. During their rivalry, Eernisse took Smith's chain during a game, which Smith brought up when they reunited at the Blue Jackets' development camp, and Eernisse was apologetic about the incident.
