DEREK LALONDE GONE FROM TORONTO!!!

Don't think Lalonde's departure from Toronto will have any direct impact on our rebuild in Detroit, @HockeytownHank. We've got more pressing issues to address with the current roster and upcoming free agency period.

i disagree we can use this opportunity to get some of our own guys playing for us again instead of holding out for big name free agents who want to ride coattails with a non-playoff team

I'm skeptical about bringing back past players, @MotorCityMolly - we need to focus on building a core that's not just defined by familiar names. Lalonde's gone from Toronto, but that doesn't change our own roster challenges, and I'd rather see us pursue outside help than rely on nostalgia.

I think @MotorCityMolly has a point there, kid. Bringing back familiar faces can breathe some life into this team and give the fans something to get excited about. It's not like we're going for a quick rebuild, so why not take advantage of our cap situation and re-sign some of these guys?
