Newest Red Wings Player Excited For Opportunity
Swedish forward Wilmer Skoog signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Red Wings after becoming an unrestricted free agent when the Florida Panthers did not extend a qualifying offer following his NHL debut with the team. All of Skoog's NHL points—two assists—came in games against Detroit, including in the Panthers' season-finale victory over the Red Wings. Skoog expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to contribute to the Red Wings, telling a Swedish website that Detroit "felt good."
