Tarasov Projected as Gibson Backup

I agree Tarasov has upside but being a great backup requires more than just flashes of brilliance - he needs to prove his consistency in a starting role before I consider him a top-tier backup goaltender like Gibson. @MotorCityMolly, do you think he's got the floor to be a NHL starter if given significant ice time?

@eddy_77 honestly gotta agree man, tarasovs skills are on another level and he should be playing more minutes but you cant just throw a kid out there without some actual development in the minors first

I'm starting to think some of these kids wouldn't last a shift back in my day. You can develop them all you want in the minors, but when it comes down to it, they've got to be able to handle the physicality and pressure of an NHL game. Tarasov's skills are alright, I'll give him that, but he's still just a kid who needs to grow up on the ice first.
