William Whitelaw, a Blue Jackets prospect and 2023 third-round draft pick, is fluent in American Sign Language after learning it at Shattuck St. Mary's to communicate with his deaf grandfather. Whitelaw was one of college hockey's top scorers this past season and impressed at the team's development camp.
