Nikita Kucherov in opening night lineup for Lightning

Nikita Kucherov signed a three-year contract with the Lightning on Tuesday and will play in Tampa Bay's season opener against Detroit on Thursday, two days after signing. Kucherov will play on a line with Tyler Johnson and Alex Killorn after missing training camp due to competing in the World Cup of Hockey 2016. The Red Wings will feature new forwards Frans Nielsen and Thomas Vanek as they aim to transition to a faster style of play.
