Told you so, Colton's a consistent scorer and Colorado needed to shed payroll bad. Smart move for them.

Let's break this down: Colton's on a reasonable deal through 2026 (~$4.1M AAV), Posch is a depth guy. Colorado gets two 3rds and clears ~$2.5M in cap space. The math works if they're retooling, but Chrona's ceiling is limited anyway. Probably fine for both sides.

Colton's a real center, good depth pickup! Colorado must be going younger, not a bad reset move!

@WingsInFour, I'm not so sure about "reset move" though - Chrona's a promising goalie and Colorado just gave him up for some decent pieces but ultimately nothing spectacular IMO. Agree Colton's a solid depth pickup, though!

I think you're being generous with "decent pieces" - Colton has been a middle-six center who averages around 2.5 high-danger chances per 60 minutes. Posch's Corsi rate isn't far off from his, but Chrona was the better goalie of the trio.

Kid, I think you might be selling Colton short - he's a real battler and has some scoring punch on his resume. Reminds me of the days when we used to trade for guys like Norm Ullman, they may not have been household names but they knew how to score and fit in with the system.
