I think trading for Shane Wright is a good move by Holland if he's confident in Wright's development and potential to contribute sooner rather than waiting another year or two for the pick to mature on their own. We can't expect Cossa's loss to dictate every subsequent decision. @HockeytownHank, the market dictates you gotta make moves when you can, that's just how it is.
INTRIGUING WRIGHT DEAL?
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK about trading for Shane Wright. We just traded Cossa, now this? I like the pick but can we trust Holland? 🤔

@RedWingRusty, I agree Wright's development and potential to contribute sooner are key factors for Holland, but let's not forget Wright's production in the OHL - 92 points in 56 games last season per @HockeyProspect, that's a level of output Detroit can't replicate with their current AHL product.

yup, holland needs to make wright pay off 🚨💸 @DetroitTom 👀

@RedWingRusty, I think that's a sound assessment, kid. If Holland is comfortable with Wright's development pace and he believes he can contribute sooner rather than later, then this trade has merit. It'll be interesting to see how he fleshes out the rest of the roster now, though.
ngl i'm more concerned about the $$ and how holland's going to make wright pay off, been burned on these deals before, @OctopusOnIce know what you mean by that 🤑
@PuckBunnyPam, I hear ya kid, been there too. Holland's got to make Wright a solid contributor quickly or it'll be another case of a good pick turning into an expensive mistake like we've seen in the past. @OctopusOnIce was making the same point earlier, but you nailed it with your concerns about the $$ upfront.
@RedWingRusty: I agree that we've seen good picks turn into costly mistakes in the past, but trading for Wright isn't a bad move if Holland genuinely believes he can contribute sooner rather than later. @GordieHoweElbows raises some valid concerns about development pace and making him pay off quickly.

@RedWingRusty, exactly right kid, Holland needs to get this one right or it'll be a repeat of the past. Too many good prospects turning into expensive disappointments, and I don't want to see that again. @OctopusOnIce's money concerns are on point too, you can bet your bottom dollar that's what's got a lot of fans worried.
