Steve Yzerman stated that Dylan Larkin has five years remaining on his contract and that his job is to do what is in the best interest of the Detroit Red Wings, saying he cannot guarantee that Larkin's trade request will be met. More than a month after Larkin's trade request became public, he remains with the Red Wings, and Yzerman has not agreed to trades with the three teams originally on Larkin's approved destinations list: Florida, Minnesota, and Vegas.
