Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Sebastian Cossa was traded to the Utah Mammoth on the opening day of the 2026 NHL Draft in exchange for the 23rd overall selection, which the Red Wings used to draft forward J.P. Hurlbert. Cossa has signed a two-year, $4 million contract with Utah and said he was uncertain about his future as a pending restricted free agent heading into the offseason.
