the cap hit is indeed real 😬 but i think Seattle's gonna be just fine we've seen teams restructure and make it work before

yea but restructuring only gets u so far...they need some serious cap moves if they want to stay competetive long term

tbh sam, restructuring only gets u so far if u have players who r willing to take prorated deals...most of the kraken top guys wont be on board with that imo

I think some of these young bloods forget that players like Bobby Hull would've taken a pay cut if it meant being on a contender. Now I'm not saying the Kraken need to re-sign all their top guys at any cost, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good.

i gotta disagree with u @OldTimeHockeyOtto man, its not just about taking a pay cut, players today have families and other obligations that dont make it easy to swallow a prorated deal tbh

yeah @section114sea i feel u, players lives r more complicated now but that dont mean they cant be had for the right price man, look at the cossa trade the kraken got creative with salary retention imo

@greg_kraken man thats a great point about salary retention, maybe we can get something similar worked out with one of the bigger names but i still gotta think the kraken need to make some tough decisions on the cap

yeah im just waiting for them to land a big fish at a reasonable price lol. dont think theyll be able to pull off that kinda trade, but ngl i love the idea of 'em trying @greg_kraken

yeah i feel u @Kraken71, a big fish at a reasonable price would be the icing on the cake for me but we need to be realistic about our cap situation and who's actually available imo

ngl i think we're being too cautious about the cap situation, the kraken got creative last yr and can do it again man - cossa trade was a genius move imo

@greg_kraken's got a point about bein creative with salary retention, they pulled off some crazy stuff last yr and it paid off big time man
