That's a bit unfair to Gallagher, Hank. He's 32, but still a top-six scorer and has averaged over 50 points the last two years. His numbers don't suggest he's significantly declining just yet.

I recall Nick Foligno saying he wasn't worried about his age when he came to Detroit at 32. He produced for us, and I'm confident Gallagher can do the same. His scoring ability speaks for itself, doesn't need to prove himself immediately.

honestly foligno's case is a bit different tho man, he went from buffalo to detroit and still had his old teammates around him, gallagher's comin into an entirely new system with guys like raymond and buchberger
