The Tampa Bay Lightning signed left wing Ilya Mikheyev to a four-year deal with a $3.85 million AAV and also signed defenseman John Carlson during free agency that opened July 1. General manager Julien BriseBois indicated the team was active on multiple fronts including trades and signings to shape the 2026-27 roster. Mikheyev, 31, recorded a career-best 36 points over 77 games with the Chicago Blackhawks and brings scoring ability, penalty kill help, and speed.
