The Florida Panthers acquired goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the New Jersey Devils in a trade that sent forwards Evan Rodrigues, Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves to New Jersey. Markstrom, who was drafted by Florida in 2008 and previously played for Vancouver, Calgary, and New Jersey, expressed excitement about returning to the Panthers and reuniting with goaltending coach Robb Tallas, whom he worked with during the 2013-14 season. Markstrom recorded a 3.07 goals-against average and .883 save percentage in 44 games for the Devils last season and will begin a two-year, $12 million contract with Florida.
