Red Wings’ second pick in 2019 finally joins another organization

Defenseman Antti Tuomisto, the Red Wings' second draft pick in 2019 under GM Steve Yzerman, signed with the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday following three seasons with the Grand Rapids Griffins. The 25-year-old right-shooting defenseman was selected 35th overall in the second round and never appeared in an NHL game. Tuomisto recorded eight goals and 21 assists in 68 games last season for Grand Rapids and has tallied 16 goals and 57 assists in 185 career AHL games.
