The Detroit Red Wings signed left wing Viktor Arvidsson to a two-year contract with an annual average value of $5 million during the first day of free agency. The 33-year-old is described as a high-motor, high-shot volume, two-way player who recorded 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games with the Boston Bruins last season. Arvidsson will be joining his fourth team in four seasons and has a history of injury concerns, having played 70 or more games only once in the past eight seasons.
