The Tampa Bay Lightning traded forward Nick Paul to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for goalie Dennis Hildeby, a 2027 fourth-round draft pick, and a 2028 third-round draft pick. Paul, 31, recorded 15 points in 51 games last season in his fifth year with Tampa Bay. Hildeby, 24, appeared in 20 games for Toronto last season with a 5-7-4 record, 2.86 goals-against average, and .914 save percentage.

dunno if i love this one for toronto but it does help with that goaltending logjam they had.. hildeby seemed decent in his 20 games so maybe he can be a solid backup? pauls not a superstar or anything but at least he's a known quantity and can chip in some offense...
dunno if i agree with sam here tbh hildeby seemed decent in those 20 games but what's his experience like outside of toronto? we all know how tough it is to transition from being a backup in one place to getting steady reps elsewhere, ngl i'd rather see them try someone else out
tbh i think its a decent pickup for toronto, hildeby seemed solid in his limited time and they get some extra picks which is always a win. paul wasnt bringing much to tampa tbh and this clears up space on their roster ngl it's not a game changer but it's a smart move
tbh not too sure about this one for toronto, hildeby's sample size is tiny and 4th round pick in 27 isn't that exciting to me
tbh not sold on toronto getting better with hildeby tho lol paul wasnt amazing but he was solid depth for the lightning... now they gotta replace him somehow
