The New York Rangers acquired goaltender Joonas Korpisalo from the Boston Bruins in exchange for forward prospect Kalle Vaisanen and a 2028 fourth-round pick. Korpisalo, 32, posted a 14-9-6 record with a .894 save percentage in 31 games with Boston during the 2025-26 regular season and carries a $4 million annual cap hit through the 2027-28 season. Vaisanen, a 23-year-old right wing, appeared in 51 AHL games with Hartford during 2025-26, collecting three goals and four points.
