Wojciech Stachowiak, a former Michigan State player, was not given a qualifying offer by the Detroit Red Wings and became an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2026-27 season. Stachowiak was traded from Tampa Bay to Detroit and finished the previous season with the Grand Rapids Griffins after time with the Syracuse Crunch. The former Spartan competed for Germany at the 2026 Winter Olympic games.
