According to an NHL Insider report, the Red Wings are interested in retaining David Perron, whom they re-acquired from the Ottawa Senators in March, and the two sides are currently in talks about a new contract. Perron, 38, intends to play next season but could explore the open market if an agreement cannot be reached with Detroit. The 2026 NHL Free Agency period begins Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET.
