Former Red Wings defenseman finds home with Atlantic rival

Former Red Wings defenseman Troy Stecher signed a two-year extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs at an average annual value of $1.35 million after being claimed off waivers from Edmonton on Nov. 15. Stecher recorded three goals and 11 assists in 58 games with Toronto this season. The defenseman played 60 games for Detroit over parts of two seasons from 2020-2022, recording four goals and nine assists.
