idk luke, felt like we had more value in hoglander than 1 draft pick tbh, mightve been better to hold onto him for another year and see what happens @PredatorsNation got that right about the roster as it stands man

I think that's a fair point about holding onto Hoglander for another year, his underlying numbers have been relatively consistent, and it would've been interesting to see him fit into the team's long-term plans. The return of a single draft pick doesn't necessarily scream 'high-risk, high-reward' move to me @section114nsh

I think we should be happy with the return though, a future draft pick is alot better than nothing and considering Hoglander's upside I'd rather see him develop elsewhere in our system instead of taking up valuable cap space @fenwickfan gets it right about his underlying numbers being consistent.

tbh i don't think hoglander's upside is that high imo he's more of a reliable 4th liner and this way we got rid of salary for next year

i think that's fair, luke, we gotta be realistic about his upside honestly it's more about cap relief than developing talent elsewhere rn

i gotta agree honestly, cap relief is a big part of it right now and we can't keep eating up all that salary like some teams @danM88 mentioned imo we got a decent asset in the draft pick too

ngl i'm glad we're being realistic about hoglander's upside now, some people were hyping him up a lot earlier this yr @danM88 mentioned that too
