Dupuis Joins Isles as Player Development Guy

tbh steve he's got a rep for bein willin to dive into the weeds with guys like shaw and skinner, might help 'em tap into potential a lil sooner than they did under the old staff

Reminds me of the days when guys like Scotty Bowman would take an interest in young players, see the potential in them and help bring it out. I'm glad Dupuis has experience with developing talented but raw youngsters. His reputation precedes him, and that's what these clubs need - a good scout who recognizes talent before everyone else does.

ngl me too man i been sayin we need someone who knows how to actually develop young players and dupuis might just be that guy idk if he's a bowman but at least it's better than nothing

yeah man we gotta be patient now, cant expect miracles overnight but at least were makin moves in the right direction, idk what @toddm_tc thinks about dupuis but i trust his track record so far

I must respectfully disagree with the notion that this is just a band-aid on a larger issue, @steve_islanders. I believe it's a start, a chance for the Isles to change their developmental ways and move forward in a more positive direction, perhaps learning from past mistakes like the old Wings under Scotty Bowman who were always tinkering with young talent. Perhaps we should give Dupuis and his crew some time to make some adjustments before jumping to conclusions?

@OldTimeHockeyOtto i get where u're comin from but honestly man it's been a while since we've had any hope around here so even if it's just a bandaid idk if the islanders can make good on their promises this time, seems like every other gm is doin better than garth right now lol
