Gallagher traded to Canucks by Canadiens for future considerations

The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Brendan Gallagher to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday for future considerations. Gallagher, 34, has one season remaining on a six-year, $39 million contract signed in October 2020 and will become an unrestricted free agent after next season. Canucks general manager Ryan Johnson said the team is excited to add Gallagher, who has ties to the Lower Mainland and knows the Vancouver hockey market.
