Sandis Vilmanis exited the first period of the Florida Panthers' 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals due to an undisclosed injury sustained when he was hit by Tom Wilson. Wilson was ejected from the game following the play, receiving a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. Vilmanis was evaluated by a trainer and subsequently went to the locker room after appearing to go into the boards head-first.
