The Red Wings traded Simon Edvinsson to the Bruins for defenseman Mason Lohrei, a 2027 first-round pick from Toronto, and a 2028 second-round pick. Edvinsson, a 23-year-old Swedish defenseman, did not play this season due to a contract holdout. Lohrei, 25, is a left-shot defenseman from Louisiana who played 73 games last season for Boston.
