Red Wings add to prospect pool, with Hurlbert, Plante leading way
The Red Wings selected forward J.P. Hurlbert in the first round after trading goaltender Sebastian Cossa, then added five more forwards, one defenseman, and one goaltender across rounds two through seven of the NHL Entry Draft. Among the selections was Victor Plante in the second round, brother of Wings prospect Max Plante, who recently won the Hobey Baker Award. Kris Draper, the Wings' director of amateur scouting, characterized Victor Plante as a smart, competitive player with a passion for the game.
