Yzerman on Sebastian Cossa: Things change and you pivot
TheWire2h ago
The Detroit Red Wings traded goaltender Sebastian Cossa to the Utah Hockey Club for the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, which they used to select winger J.P. Hurlbert. GM Steve Yzerman cited the organization's depth at the goaltending position and the opportunity to add a dynamic prospect type as reasons for the trade. Cossa, drafted 15th overall in 2021, never started a game for Detroit despite spending four seasons developing in the minor leagues.
