The Kraken selected forward Casey Mutryn with the 38th overall pick in the second round of the NHL Draft, taking a 6-foot-3, 200-pound right wing from the U.S. National Team Development Program. Mutryn, who captained Team USA at the recent U18 World Championships, grew up in an athletically driven household and previously played multiple sports including baseball before committing full-time to hockey two years ago.
