The Detroit Red Wings selected center Beckham Edwards with the 143rd pick in the 2026 NHL Draft on June 27 at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Edwards, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound center from the Ontario Hockey League's Sarnia Sting, previously played in the Little Caesars program at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit and recorded 19 goals and 26 assists in 64 games during the 2025-26 season. Edwards cited his skating, hockey IQ, and versatility as key strengths.
