The Detroit Red Wings selected left wing Victor Plante in the second round at No. 47 of the NHL draft Saturday, the same draft position where they selected his brother Max two years prior. Plante, who played for the U.S. National Team Development program, will join his brothers at Minnesota-Duluth next season and scored 21 goals with 48 points in 57 games for the Under-18 Team last season. His father, Derek Plante, was an eighth-round pick by Buffalo in 1989 and won a Stanley Cup with Dallas in 1999.
