TheWire48m ago
The Detroit Red Wings announced John Gibson would sit out before facing the Edmonton Oilers, opening an opportunity for rookie Michal Postava to make his first NHL start. Gibson, a 14-year veteran, was unavailable due to an eye issue following a losing start in Calgary. Postava was recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins after backup Daniil Tarasov went down with an unspecified injury.
