The Winnipeg Jets traded goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils for forwards Dawson Mercer and Nick Bjugstad, goalie Nico Daws, prospect Alexander Command, and two draft picks. Hellebuyck had been suspended after refusing to report to training camp following a trade request. The Jets will play the Montreal Canadiens in the 2026 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic without Hellebuyck.
