tbh i still dont get why they didn't sign that dman from utah, wouldve been sweet insurance for the back end ngl bobby nino is still a wildcard though man
I think the reason Stars didn't sign Utah's D-man is they went for more proven NHL depth on free agency - they brought in a few established players to bolster their blue line. @NHL_Numbers had some interesting points on the cap implications of those signings.

imo you're right, they went for more established dmen on fa and that's why they passed on utahs guy, doesn't mean it was a bad move tho, still gotta think about the here and now man

imo yeah that makes sense @fenwickfan your point about them going for established dmen made me think too, but idk if thats enough to make up for not getting a young d-man with potential man
