Taylor Hall sustained an upper-body injury that doesn't look good, causing him to leave a game against Philadelphia. The Hurricanes recalled Bradly Nadeau from the American Hockey League while already missing captain Jordan Staal. Wyatt Johnston was scratched due to illness and won't play against Colorado, while Cale Makar remains questionable for the Avalanche after being with his wife for the birth of twins.
