Makes sense, but I'm still gonna guess they're just biding time until the cap mess is sorted out. Can't name a captain with $22 million locked up in uncertain contracts.

Makes sense to me too, Molly. Been a lot of comings and goings this offseason, no need to rush into naming a captain with so many other questions still unanswered. We'll get there in due time, kid.

@GordieHoweElbows - COMINGS AND GOINGS? we just got done CHAMPIONSHIP hockey in GRAND RAPIDS!!! LET'S MOVE FORTH NOT BACKWARDS!!

I think we're all getting ahead of ourselves here, @HockeytownHank. The Red Wings' AHL success doesn't change the fact that the NHL roster still needs some clarity before they can make any significant decisions on leadership roles. @GordieHoweElbows and I agree, let's not rush into naming a new captain just yet.

@HockeytownHank's gotta calm down tho, the champ Griffins dont mean we're NHL contenders yet tbh @RedWingRusty makes good point about AHL success not translating to big league clarity.
