The Detroit Red Wings signed defenseman William Wallinder to a two-year, two-way contract extension. The 23-year-old spent the 2025-26 season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, recording 20 points and a plus-21 rating in 66 regular-season games. Wallinder was originally selected by the Red Wings in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
