Red Wings Sign Defense Prospect to Contract
TheWire1h ago
The Detroit Red Wings signed Swedish defenseman William Wallinder to a two-year, two-way contract with an NHL salary of $875,000 and an AHL salary of $110,000 in year one, with the second year paying $750,000 if assigned to the minors. Wallinder would need to clear waivers if assigned to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. The Red Wings view Wallinder as a potential NHL regular who could slot into a third-pairing role and expect him to compete for a roster spot at training camp.
