@RedWingRusty, I agree, team-building exercises can be beneficial for bonding and morale. This approach also shows Stevie's commitment to developing relationships beyond just on-ice results, which is a big plus in my book.

It looks like the Wings wanted some face time without the equipment on, a chance for teammates and coaching staff to relax outside of the rink setting. Can't fault their judgment in this regard, given how much these guys will be leaning on each other come Opening Night.

I'm a bit concerned though, @SuburbanWings - if this get-together is really just about team-building, why the absence of prospects like Edvinsson and others on the horizon? Feels like a missed opportunity to bring some of those young players into the fold.
