Chabot named Senators captain ahead of season opener

Thomas Chabot was named captain of the Ottawa Senators ahead of the 2026-27 season opener, replacing Brady Tkachuk who was traded to Florida. Chabot is the team's longest-tenured player, having played all nine of his NHL seasons with Ottawa since being selected in the 2015 NHL Draft. Forwards Claude Giroux and Tim Stutzle and defenseman Jake Sanderson were named alternates.
