Forward Frank Nazar is projected to open the season on the top line center position until Connor Bedard's return from shoulder surgery. Bedard, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, is expected to miss at least the first month of the season. Nazar, the No. 13 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, will play alongside Roman Kantserov and Patrick Kane during Chicago's season opener against Vegas.
