Pastrnak named Bruins captain, 1st since Marchand

David Pastrnak was named captain of the Boston Bruins, succeeding Brad Marchand who was traded in March 2025. The 30-year-old forward, who has played his entire 12-season NHL career with the Bruins, joins a group that includes 16 Hall of Famers and nine retired numbers. Pastrnak will wear the "C" for the Bruins' season opener against the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
