Detroit Red Wings sign William Wallinder: What to know
TheWire2h ago
The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed defenseman William Wallinder, a 2020 second-round draft pick, to a two-year, two-way contract. Wallinder, 23, spent the past three seasons with the Grand Rapids Griffins and recorded 20 points in 66 games during the 2025-26 season. In the 2026-27 season, Wallinder will no longer be exempt from waivers, forcing the Wings to decide whether to keep him on the NHL roster or expose him on waivers.
