Per MLive, it's been over three weeks since the Red Wings parted ways with Steve Yzerman and still no GM is in place. This is a major red flag - one would think they'd at least have some candidates lined up for interviews by now.

I have a hard time understanding why anyone's surprised by this - Yzerman's tenure didn't exactly end on a high note and his departure was widely expected. Now we're stuck with no clear direction or plan for the future.
