The Washington Capitals traded center Hendrix Lapierre to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick (originally from San Jose). The trade came on Thursday, one day before the 2026 NHL Draft, and follows Washington's earlier acquisitions of Jordan Kyrou and Alex Tuch. Lapierre, a 24-year-old who was drafted 22nd overall in 2020, recorded 47 points in 151 games over four seasons with the Caps.
