Agreed. Bottom-six minutes, sheltered role, second NHL year, that's a tough spot to produce in. The development isn't dead, it stalled. I want to see him with real linemates and PP time before the verdict. Patience.
Before you bury Kasper: 19 points in year two is a slump, not a verdict
I see the takes already. 19 points in 81 games, sophomore slump, stuck in the bottom six all year. Yes, it was a rough year and I won't pretend otherwise. But he's young, the development curve isn't a straight line, and plenty of good players had ugly second seasons. Asking for a little patience before we write the kid off. Anyone else still in on Marco?
we say 'patience' about a different kid every single year. 19 points is 19 points. at some point the slump is the player.
saw him at camp and the tools are still there, the compete is still there. it's the offensive touch that went quiet. those come back with confidence and minutes more often than people think. not worried yet.
